The Sales Tax report lists countries, states or provinces where sales tax or Value Added Tax (VAT) is levied and the total tax collected for the total number of orders.

You can also see individual US states and Canadian provinces information if you click the + sign next to the country name to expand the view.
You can also see sub-categories for taxes. Click the subtab Sales Tax by Category. These tax categories are set up during development and can vary by state or country and from installation to installation. For example, you might differentiate between taxable and non-taxable items, or sales of normally taxable items to non-profit entities who are not required to pay the tax.
