To use SharePoint from Site Editor, a developer needs to set up a link to the SharePoint library with the correct permissions.

To link a file or page from SharePoint

  1. In the text editor, highlight the text you want linked, and click on the Insert Sharepoint icon.

Insert Link to SharePoint Library

  1. Under Link Target, chose a radio button for the type of link you want and click on the Pages icon to bring up a popup with your SharePoint Library menu structure.
  1. Navigate to the page or file needed, highlight it, and choose Create Link.
  2. The selected page or file will appear in the appropriate field.
  3. Choose whether to display the linked content in the current window, a new window, or a modal or popup.
  4. If desired, you can also attached a Watched Event to the Link.

Links to Images work in a similar manner.

  1. Click on the Import Image icon next to the SharePoint Text.
  2. You will receive a popup that contains the structure of the linked SharePoint library. Navigate to the image file needed, highlight it, and choose Select.

The material will be linked within the iAPPS content area.

Note:Files and images linked from a SharePoint library cannot be edited in iAPPS. Changes should be made in SharePoint. Additional calls to the linked information will then access the updated information. If you import a file from SharePoint into the iAPPS Library via the regular file upload process, however, any information within the file will not update dynamically. Any changes to the original file in SharePoint will not be reflected unless the file is re-imported.

Note: Because SharePoint content is linked from a SharePoint Library rather than stored in the iAPPS database, folder level security will not apply to the linked content. Additionally, the content in the linked file cannot be indexed for search directly. You can use custom code to inject SharePoint information into the iAPPS search index.
