The Shopping Cart is the virtual container for all products selected for purchase by a customer. They provide controls that allow the customer to change the quantity ordered, and add or delete products.
When customers review their Shopping Cart they can click a link to display a popup with shipping rates without navigating away.
Shopping Carts are also used to promote other products in your online store. These include:
A Wish List enables registered users to save items for review and/or purchase at a later date. Wish List items can easily be transferred to the Shopping Cart for purchase. Customers can create as many Wish Lists as they like; this works well for keeping track of gifts for several people or occasions. For example, a customer may have a separate Wish List for each person that he or she buys birthday gifts for.
A visitor to the online store can add items to a Wish List when they are there, but any Wish List they create will not be saved for a future visit unless they register by creating a Customer Profile.
Wish Lists serve a secondary value; marketers and merchandisers can analyze customer Wish List data and use the information for email campaigns and real-time product promotions.
