The checkout process involves a number of steps that enable a final purchase:
Generally customers manage all aspects of this process themselves, but Customer Services Representatives can also aid customers with the process (see the next section for details).
iAPPS Commerce Order Management features allow a customer service representative (CSR) to help customers efficiently place orders, and to quickly solve customer problems in real-time.
Site Customer Representatives can access any and all data associated with a user. Everything the customer might do on the store front-end Site is replicated here.
Customer Service Management handles exceptions when customers are communicating directly with a store CSR. This means that Customer Management and Order Management are closely integrated for solving customer problems.
During the checkout process, the CSR can access and manage the following information to complete the transaction:
A store can have an infinite number of orders; so iAPPS Commerce provides an efficient searching interface to quickly access archived order data. See "Managing Customers" for more information
The iAPPS Commerce account sign-in process allows registered customers to complete a purchase.
When a customer clicks the “Checkout” after reviewing their Shopping Cart, iAPPS Commerce displays the My Account page.
When a customer wants to check out but has not yet created an account, iAPPS Commerce presents two options:
Full Checkout requires the customer to fill out all of the information in the New Customer fields:
Clicking “Create Account” transitions the customer from a visitor to a registered eCommerce user. They can return to the site by entering their credentials, and also manage information in the account; including order history.
Express Checkout is designed for the shopper who does not want to create a customer profile and become a registered user. They simply enter a valid email address and proceed to checkout.
With Express Checkout, payment and shipping information will not be retained. However, customers still receive order confirmation and order status information through email. They can also track previous purchases using the email address entered for Express Checkout.
