Product Listing and Detail Pages

Product List Page

The Product List page in the figure below shows all products meeting the search criteria chosen by the customer. This displays in your front-end website.

For example, a list of bestseller TVs narrowed by brand might display like this:

Information on a Product List page includes:

• Thumbnail image of the product

• Name of the product which, when clicked, proceeds to the Product Detail page

• Price: in this example, pricing includes the Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) and the sale price. All prices can be shown, or just the current price

Depending on the product category hierarchy, products can appear under any navigational category, or only on certain levels. The example above shows a list of all products bound directly to the category Televisions + Brand=Toshiba + Bestseller.

Product Detail Page

Clicking the product name from the Product List page presents the Product Detail page that displays in your front-end website.

Because products are explicit instances of a Product Type, there is one Product Detail page per product. It displays all of the information unique to a given product.

The figure below shows an example Product Detail page for a specific model of television:

This page displays the following information:

• Breadcrumb indicating the navigational path to the page.

• Name of the product, derived by the Attributes selected when the customer performed a Faceted search and systematically narrowed the list of options.

• Larger image of the product.

• Text description, product details, SKU, price, quantity desired.

• Buttons allowing the customer to add the product to the Shopping Cart or Wish List, and a link to shipping rates

The information displayed on the Product Detail page depends on the type of products you are selling and your particular implementation. It also depends on choices made by customer as they narrow their search based on available features.
