Managing Customer Details

 

  1. From the main Customers screen (Store Manager > Customers), search for the customer by entering the customer’s name in the search field and clicking Filter. 

A list of customers matching the search filter will be displayed. 

  1. To manage customer information, right-click on a customer name, and select Edit Customer to display the Customer Details
  1. Other right-click options for that customer include going directly to functions such as payment methods, customer notes, view orders or creating a new order.

The left side displays basic customer demographic information like name and address, while the right side lets you manage customer eCommerce data, such as groups or mailing lists.

Customer on Hold

Yes/No

For Business-to-Business (B2B) customers, for example, who overextended their credit limit.  The appropriate action is configured in the site settings such as placing new orders on hold or prohibiting any new orders entirely.

Is Active

Yes/No

Whether or not the customer can log in.

Is Locked

Yes/No

Whether or not the customer can modify his/her profile (primarily impacts B2B customers). .

Customer

Choose from list

You can assign customers to specific groups.

Is On Mailing List

Yes/No

Customer can sign up to be on a mailing list. This feature enables marketing promotions; customers who self-select can be exported to a list for product promotions.

CSR Security Question

Text

CSR entered; for example, “Mother’s maiden name?” Note that customer might have selected a predefined security question when creating his or her account.

CSR Security Answer

Text

Answer to security question the CSR asks to a verify phone order or reset a password.

Password

Manual text or auto-generated text

For CSRs to reset customer password. The CSR can either enter a manual password or click the “Generate” link to create a random password.

The CSR sends the password in an email, asking the customer to change the password at the next log in.

Account Number

Text

Account number, if applicable. (B2B functionality to pay by account.) .
