Only users with the Content or Site Administrator roles can add or edit directories and sub-directories in the Content Items, Images, Files or Forms Libraries.
You can manage the directories of the following Data Libraries:
You can also manage the Menus & Pages directories in a similar manner.
To manage these directories, you can perform the following tasks:
You can also upload files to the Files Library and images to the Images Library.
You can add a directory under the library root directory or its subdirectories.
To add a directory, follow these steps:
When you delete a directory in an Asset Library, Content Manager moves any files in that directory to the unassigned directory for that Data Library.
To delete a directory:
Note: This behavior differs slightly from Menus & Pages, where you cannot delete a directory node (menu) if it has pages associated with it. You must first move or delete those pages before you will be allowed to delete the menu node.
The Content Library does not have Directory Properties, but you can edit the properties for the Image Library and File Library.
Along with the menu name and description of the folder or menu items, Directory Properties consist of Adding or Editing Security Levels.
To Edit Properties:
Only Administrators can change permissions levels on a directory item.
To view or edit which groups or users have permissions on a directory:
You can switch from viewing Users to Viewing/Editing Group permissions by choosing from the drop-down menu on the upper right.
Note: Only users who can have custom permissions will appear on the list of users. So universal users such as Content Administrators will not appear as they have permissions on the directory item by default.
See User Roles and Permissions for a full description of each role.
Note on Permissions: Some permissions are shared between Master Sites and variant sites and some are not. See "How Variant Sites Work"
