Managing Blogs

Blogs are an excellent way to attract users to your website by providing them extra information and useful content.

iAPPS makes it easy to add and maintain a blog on your site.

Unlike most of your content, you will not manage your blogs in Site Editor. Instead you will add the blog and individual posts in the Blog Library and iAPPS will automatically format and place your blog listings and posts onto the site using the Blog Listing and Post templates.

You can perform the following tasks in the iAPPS Blogs Library:

To manage your blog and posts, first select Manage Site Assets > Engagement Tools > Blogs from the main navigation menu at the top of the Content Manager Admin screen or click Manage Blogs in the Blog Comments container in the Dashboard.

The Blogs screen appears, displaying the following:

• The Blogs directory tree structure in the left pane
• Post and Comments listing in the right pane, displaying a list of posts in the selected blog directory and number of comments, if any, associated with that post. Using the Status drop-down menu, you can toggle this screen to display only Comments Awaiting Approval. You can also change the number of posts and comments visible using the Show drop-down on the far right or filter by active, archived or sticky posts using Status.

The Blogs library displays the following information about each post listed on the Posts & Comments view:

• Post Title
• Date on which blog was posted.
• Author/Last Editor
• Status
  • Live posts are visible to the public.
  • Draft posts are not visible to the public.
  • Archived posts remain in Content Manager, but do not appear on the Blog.
• Total number of comments for the post. Click on the Comments link to see a listing of the comments.
  • From the Comments listing you can easily approve, edit, delete or reply to Blog Comments. See "Managing Blog Post Comments " for more information.
